Twenty-four years after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, New York may end up with Muslim mayor
New Yorkers voted in the primaries for this year’s New York mayoral race. Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was hoping to win the primaries and was also hoping to become New York’s next mayor. However, AOC-endorsed Democratic Socialist candidate Zohran Mamdani ended up winning. Mamdani will continue to campaign for the general election later this year. If Mamdani wins in the general election, he will end up becoming New York’s first Muslim governor.

Mamdani, a 33-year-old state assembly member from Queens who is originally from Uganda, topped the former three-term governor and nine other candidates in a crowded primary field in an election that was determined by ranked-choice voting. He will be considered the frontrunner in November’s general election in the heavily blue city.
“Tonight was Assemblyman Mamdani’s night, and he put together a great campaign,” Cuomo said Tuesday in front of supporters. “He touched young people and inspired them and moved them and got them to come out and vote. He really ran a highly impactful campaign. I called him. I congratulated him. I applaud him sincerely for his effort.”
Cuomo added that “tonight is his night. He deserved it. He won.”
“We have won because New Yorkers have stood up for a city they can afford,” Mamdani told supporters in a late-night speech. “A city where they can do more than just struggle. One where those who toil in the night can enjoy the fruits of their labor in the day.”
As the unofficial results of the first round of voting trickled in, in which Mamdani was leading, Cuomo told his supporters that his campaign would be “having conversations” about how to proceed to help both the Democratic Party and New York City moving forward.
“Now I want to look at all the numbers, as they come in and this ranked choice voting and, what the numbers actually say and do,” Cuomo added.

I pointed out the downward trends and how they were directly related to Progressive policies. I used that well known saying on the right “Things that can’t last foreve — won’t..”
She surprised me by saying she understood and that I was probably right. But…. she just liked it so much there. She is very well off, so she didn’t feel the economic stress, and all the Progressive moral posturing got her all sorts of support from friends and neighbors. It was a very self-centered, mutually supportive environment that was based on being wealthy in a town full of desperate poor people who will do anything for you for a buck. Sure it was going to collapse, but right now it was magic for people like her.
It’s like Havana in 1950, Berlin in 1930, and, I bet, Rome in 400. You know it’s going to end, but it’s all wie and roses right now.
As an aside, she ended up moving to New Zealand a few years later.

I was going to comment, since Adams has no control over the legal system, as the DA and the judges do. Hack Stone heard some clips on WMAL of him speaking about city run grocery stores because, according to him, the stores are implementing “dynamic pricing”, raising prices based on customer demand. Apparently this is frowned upon, unlike the City of New York imposing dynamic pricing on vehicles entering the city. Have any of the Democrats wondered if the spike in the cost of consumer goods within the city may be related to the excessive fees that businesses need to remit in order to have their merchandise delivered?
Well, if you can buy hamburger cheaper at the government store, say by about 20% than it goes for in Jersey, then it would make sense to buy it in Manhattan and sell it in Jersey to your cousin (with a ten percent markup).
What I’m curious about is since the shoplifting and crazy city codes drove the grocers out of the city will the government stores have to follow them and simply allow people to steal at will? Because I might start shopping up there too.
If they have gov. stores, they may put the mom & Pop stores if they sell cheaper or maybe have the Mom and Pop stores take over the gov. stores. How about free public transport. I checked my copy of the Christian Bible, the New Testament and Samuel and Deuteronomy aren’t in there. They are in the Hebrew Bible, but you make it clear you don’t understand Christianity or how it works.

Methodists are my 2nd favorite group of Christians, after Lutherans. I was brought up non-denominational (essentially baptist by practice), but I never felt at home with non-dom. I’m still doing research on the other groups to see where I would best fit, but above is where I currently stand.

I grew up Lutheran. When my wife and I married, we started looking for a church that suited us. Pentecostal and some of the Free-Will Baptist churches weren’t it. I’m glad for the people that get what they need from them, it just wasn’t us. The Methodist church was a good fit. Somewhat conservative and quiet.
However, every church is different, even within the same dominations.
